Pictures... Some Of Them Have Contracts With The MoD... S. Korean Arms And Equipment Manufacturers Have A Distinguished Presence At The 13th Security And Defense Exhibition

Baghdad /NINA/- The 13th Security, Defense, Military Industries, and Cybersecurity Exhibition, held at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, witnessed a distinguished presence of Korean arms and equipment manufacturers.

Numerous international arms and military equipment manufacturers from 20 Arab and foreign countries participated in the exhibition.

South Korean companies played a prominent role in the exhibition, with 19 international companies participating, some of which have contracts with the Iraqi government, specifically the Ministry of Defense, in the fields of military aviation, air defense, and missiles.

Mustafa Al-Jawad, Director of Business Development at the Commercial Consulate at the South Korean Embassy, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that 19 international companies specialized in the manufacture of weapons and military equipment participated in the exhibition, some of them have contracts with the Iraqi government, while others are in advanced and close discussions to finalize contracts to import modern weapons and equipment from these companies to enhance the Iraqi army's capabilities in facing challenges.

 Al-Jawad emphasized that South Korean companies from various industrial and commercial specialties have valid contracts with almost all ministries in the Iraqi government. He also noted the remarkable development in Iraqi-South Korean bilateral relations, which has contributed to attracting many Korean companies to work in Iraq to establish projects and increase trade volume.

Among the most prominent international companies participating in the exhibition is KAI, which specializes in the manufacture of combat aircraft and reconnaissance and combat drones (Durbian). It has a contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense to supply spare parts for T-50 aircraft and helicopters.

The South Korean company LiGnex 1 also had a distinguished presence, showcasing its air defense products using modern radars, which include a radar, a control platform, a launch platform, and high-precision guided missiles for hitting flying targets. It also has a contract with the Ministry of Defense to import medium-range radars and missiles, and is in discussions to import long-range missiles.

 Seventeen South Korean companies also participated in the exhibition, showcasing their products. These companies specialize in the manufacture of light, medium, and heavy weapons and their related equipment, specialized riot control vehicles, thermal imaging cameras, drones, military clothing and equipment for combatants, anti-tank missiles, airborne and ground-based anti-personnel missiles, and various types of advanced air defense systems.

It is worth noting that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, inaugurated the 13th Security, Defense, Military Industries, and Cybersecurity Exhibition yesterday, Saturday, at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds in the center of the capital.
