Shura Foreign Affairs Committee receive visiting French senator

Manama, Apr. 21 (BNA): Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Shura Council's Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, received Olivier Cadic, member of the Senate of France, as part of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The visit is aimed at strengthening parliamentary relations and exchanging expertise with friendly countries in the parliamentary domain.
Dr. Al Rumaihi highlighted the importance of continuing joint efforts between Bahrain and France in parliamentary and diplomatic affairs to reinforce bilateral cooperation and align positions on issues of common interest. He underscored Bahrain’s firm support for all regional and international peace initiatives, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which is based on promoting security, stability, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Dr. Al Rumaihi noted the historical ties between the two countries and the significant development in bilateral parliamentary cooperation through the exchange of parliamentary visits and expanded dialogue on shared concerns. He also highlighted the role of parliaments in strengthening relations between nations and laying the foundations for constructive cooperation that serves mutual interests.
The meeting reviewed regional and international security developments in light of ongoing geopolitical changes, emphasising the need to enhance parliamentary cooperation and share perspectives among friendly countries.
Olivier Cadic expressed appreciation for the Shura Council’s efforts in showcasing Bahrain’s legislative and democratic progress, emphasising that the visit represents an important step towards building stronger ties between the two legislative institutions and advancing cooperation, particularly in youth and legislative initiatives.
