HM King receives Kyrgyz President
Manama, Apr. 21 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, recieved His Excellency President Sadyr Zhaparov of the Kyrgyz Republic, at Gudaibiya Palace on the occasion of HE President Zhaparov’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Upon arrival, an official reception ceremony was held, during which the national anthems of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kingdom of Bahrain were played, and a 21-gun salute was fired in honour. HE President Zhaparov then greeted the Bahraini dignitaries, while His Majesty the King greeted the members of HE President Zhaparov’s accompanying delegation.
Following this, His Majesty the King held a bilateral meeting with the HE President Zhaparov, during which the close ties of cooperation and friendship between the two countries were reviewed, along with means to enhance and develop joint cooperation across all domains for the benefit of both peoples.
His Majesty the King and HE President Zhaparov then exchanged gifts.
A broader session of talks was later held between His Majesty the King and HE President Zhaparov, attended by members of both the Bahraini and Kyrgyz delegations.
His Majesty the King welcomed HE the Kyrgyz President and his visit to the Kingdom, expressing hope that it would mark a significant step forward in strengthening the close relationship between the two countries.
On his part, HE President Zhaparov expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the King for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
The two leaders reviewed the strong bilateral relations and explored cooperation opportunities, particularly in the sectors of economy, trade, investment, and other vital areas that serve their shared interests.
His Majesty the King affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening ties of friendship and reinforcing its solid partnership with the Kyrgyz Republic in ways that fulfil the aspirations of both countries and their peoples.
His Majesty and HE the Kyrgyz President confirmed their shared interest to continue advancing cooperation and joint efforts, and to take advantage of investment opportunities in both countries to elevate their relations to higher levels of progress and prosperity.
The meeting also addressed several regional and international developments of mutual interest, with an exchange of views on the matters discussed.
On his part, HE President Zhaparov commended the active role of His Majesty the King in developing the friendly bilateral relations between the two countries across all domains.
In the presence of His Majesty the King and HE the Kyrgyz President, an official signing ceremony was held for several agreements and memoranda of understanding as follows:
1. A Memorandum of Understanding between the General Sports Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State Agency for Fitness Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports. It was signed on behalf of Bahrain by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
2. An Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on air services, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Bustonov Daniyar, Director General of the State Civil Aviation Agency.
3. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding economic cooperation, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Bakyt Sydykov, Minister of Economy and Commerce.
4. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in the health sector, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
5. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic on cultural cooperation, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
6. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in the field of youth, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
7. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic for cooperation in legal and judicial matters, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Ayaz Baetov, Minister of Justice.
8. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Azamat Yusupov, Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs.
9. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, signed on behalf of Bahrain by Sameer bin Abdulla Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and on behalf of Kyrgyzstan by Ulukbek Maripov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, residing in Riyadh.
His Majesty the King and HE President Zhaparov welcomed the signing of these agreements and memoranda of understanding, which will contribute to advancing and strengthening mutual cooperation between the two countries.
His Majesty the King later hosted a luncheon in honour of HE President Zhaparov and his accompanying delegation.
The honorary delegation was headed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
