SCYS Sec Gen receives UNDP Assistant Secretary General

Manama, Apr. 27 (BNA): Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the SCYS, received Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The meeting was attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs.

Al Moayyed emphasised that, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, the SCYS views youth as the driving force of development. He noted that joint programmes with the UN represent an opportunity to support youth initiatives and empower national energies, particularly in innovation and entrepreneurship.

He also commended the important role played by the United Nations (UN) in supporting comprehensive development, highlighting the importance of directing cooperation towards building the capacities of Bahraini youth and enhancing their participation in sustainable development paths.

Dr. Al Dardari commended the Kingdom of Bahrain's achievements in various domains, particularly in empowering youth and developing sports infrastructure. He highlighted the UNDP's commitment to expanding areas of cooperation with the Kingdom and supporting projects that enhance the role of youth as active partners in shaping a more sustainable future.
