Finance Minister holds meetings with counterparts during IMF, World Bank sessions

Washington, Apr. 28 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, met with Dorjkhand Togmid, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Mongolia, on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (WBG), held in the United States of America.

 

The meeting discussed means to develop bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various domains, particularly in the economic and investment sectors, to create more promising opportunities for both countries.

 

Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations and strategic and economic partnerships with various countries at all levels, highlighting the importance of developing these ties and advancing them to achieve common goals and interests.

 

Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also met with Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance of Malaysia, and Dr. Abdul Rasheed Abdul Ghaffour, Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa noted the continuous development witnessed in Bahraini-Malaysian bilateral relations across all domains, particularly in the financial and banking sectors.

 

Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also met with Yusuf Murangwa, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of Rwanda, and Uzziel Ndagijimana, Minister of State in Charge of Resource Mobilization and Public Investments of Rwanda, where they reviewed cooperation relations in the financial and economic domains and discussed means to develop them to more advanced levels.

 

During the meetings, several topics of common interest and the latest developments in the global economy were discussed.

 

The meetings were attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, and Khaled bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).
