Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes appointment of State of Palestine Deputy President

Manama, Apr. 28 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the decision of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) to appoint Hussein Al Sheikh as Deputy President of the Executive Committee of the PLO and Deputy President of the State of Palestine.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast support for the PLO, the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, in its reform efforts to enhance institutional development, strengthen national unity, and pursue the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. This includes the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders of June 4, 1967. 

The ministry also extends its wishes of success to Hussein Al Sheikh in his new duties.
