Rabat, Apr. 28 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, participated in the third South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum, held in Rabat under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

The event is organised by the Moroccan House of Councillors in cooperation with the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, held under the theme "Interregional and intercontinental dialogues in the countries of the South: an essential lever for meeting the new challenges of international cooperation and achieving peace, security, stability and shared development".

The Shura Chairman highlighted Bahrain’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to supporting international cooperation among Southern countries and promoting sustainable development, peace, and security.

Al Saleh emphasised the importance of joint diplomatic action and political dialogue, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause, and called for a two-state solution based on international legitimacy.

He highlighted Bahrain’s initiatives in launching joint cooperation projects to enhance partnerships and knowledge exchange with other countries.

Chairman Al Saleh underlined that cooperation among the countries of the south is no longer an option but a necessity in light of escalating global challenges, including economic crises, climate change, geopolitical shifts, and rising conflicts. He underlined the need to unify efforts and establish strategic partnerships based on effective dialogue and constructive cooperation to serve the interests of southern peoples and enhance their international standing.

He expressed appreciation to Morocco for hosting the forum and voiced hope that the event would yield constructive recommendations to promote development, stability, and cooperation among southern countries.
