Cultural Development Fund Concludes 'Handcraft Experiences' at Expo 2025 Osaka

Riyadh, May 12, 2025, SPA -- The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) has concluded its event titled Handcraft Experiences: A Celebration of Art and Innovation at Expo 2025 Osaka—marking the fund's second participation at the event. Held from May 3 to 9 in collaboration with the Saudi Pavilion, the event reflected the Kingdom's commitment to elevating the global presence of the Year of Handicrafts, designated for 2025.
Featuring several Saudi artisans and cultural initiatives supported by CDF, the event offered interactive experiences celebrating the richness of Saudi handicrafts while promoting innovation and sustainability.
The program drew wide international interest, with more than 6,900 visitors. Among the highlights was the work of visual artist Hams Murayh, who showcased paintings inspired by the traditional Al-Qatt Al-Asiri art form. The works were creatively rendered on palm fronds using natural pigments derived from Saudi Arabia’s stones, plants, and soil.
