KSrelief Extends Project Masam Contract for Landmine Clearance in Yemen for One Year

Riyadh, May 29, 2025, SPA -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) extended the contract for the implementation of Project Masam for an additional year with a budget of $52,994,413. Project Masam is a program aimed at clearing landmines from Yemeni territory to eliminate the posed danger and protect innocent lives from the deadly threat of mines.
The project is being carried out by Saudi personnel, in collaboration with international experts, through Yemeni teams trained to remove all types of randomly planted landmines across Yemen. The project also includes training and capacity-building initiatives for Yemeni specialists in mine clearance.
Advisor at the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah said: “This contract renewal with our implementing partner reflects the center’s deep sense of humanitarian responsibility toward our brothers and sisters in Yemen, given the critical importance of this unique project in continuing to clear Yemeni land of landmines, which have caused lasting injuries.” He noted the project has so far succeeded in removing 495,855 mines and various types of explosive ordnance.
Al Rabeeah extended his thanks and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their extensive humanitarian and relief efforts around the world, particularly in Yemen.
