Makkah Municipality Completes Sanitation Preparations at Holy Sites for Hajj Season

   Makkah, June 03, 2025, SPA -- The Holy Makkah Municipality has completed all arrangements related to sanitation services at the holy sites in preparation for receiving pilgrims for the 1446 AH Hajj season. As part of its commitment to advancing sanitation operations, the municipality has deployed a number of electric waste compactors and underground storage units, utilizing the latest technologies in the field.
   The municipality emphasized its commitment to improving various sanitation services, particularly temporary waste storage, in response to the increasing number of pilgrims and the spatial and temporal constraints of the holy sites. These conditions necessitate scientific solutions and the adoption of advanced technology.
   The municipality highlighted that the electric waste compactors project will significantly improve waste management, helping to address challenges associated with storing the large volumes of waste generated during the Hajj period. These compactors are especially suited for high-density areas and are easily transportable using equipment already available to contractors with the General Department of Sanitation.
   It also stressed the full readiness of all its facilities, field centers, personnel, and equipment and reiterated its commitment to executing its operational plans effectively. These efforts aim to accommodate the presence and density of pilgrims, ensure high standards of cleanliness and environmental health, and provide municipal services that enhance the comfort and well-being of pilgrims.
