Ministry of Health Issues Awareness Guidelines for Common Hajj-Related Injuries

Mina, June 03, 2025, SPA -- As part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard the health of pilgrims and ensure a safe Hajj experience, the Ministry of Health continues to deliver awareness campaigns and field services to address common health emergencies that may occur during the pilgrimage across the holy sites.
The initiative is part of the ministry’s broader strategy to enhance healthcare quality under the “Health Sector Transformation” and “Pilgrim Experience” programs, both of which fall within the framework of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. These programs aim to raise the quality of life and ensure a secure and healthy Hajj for all pilgrims.
For the 1446 AH Hajj season, the ministry has launched a multilingual health awareness kit available in eight languages. The kit includes guidance on how to handle common injuries such as falls, sprained ankles, low blood sugar, nosebleeds, and bruises.
Pilgrims are advised to wear appropriate footwear and avoid slippery surfaces, as well as high or mountainous areas, to reduce the risk of falls. In the event of an ankle sprain or bruise, first aid steps include applying cold compresses, elevating the foot, and minimizing pressure on the injured area.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to promoting health awareness and delivering the highest levels of care to pilgrims. It urged all pilgrims to adhere to preventive guidelines and basic first aid procedures, which play a crucial role in ensuring their safety and well-being during the Hajj rituals.
