DPRK Railway Transport Sector Makes Success in Improving Railway Conditions
Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- The officials and workers in the railway transport sector of the DPRK are achieving successes in improving the railway conditions.
Thanks to their efforts, the concrete sleeper production plan of the Ministry of Railways for the first half of the year was carried out at 110.8 percent.
The Rahung Concrete Sleeper Factory has developed and introduced valuable technical innovation proposals to increase the capacity of the sleeper production 1.4 times more than before.
The Sungho Concrete Sleeper Factory has produced tens of thousands of more sleepers than last year.
The officials and workers of the Pyongyang, Kaechon, Hamhung and Chongjin railway bureaus fulfilled ahead of schedule the plans of the ministry for replacing the sleepers in the first half of the year until June 10 through a socialist emulation among units.
The safety of the railways is being improved.
The Haeju, Pukchang, Kowon and Kilju railway branch bureaus increase the proportion of railway work done by machines and repair and reinforce railway beds, railway bridges, tunnels and retaining walls, thus ensuring the safety of structures.
Officials and workers of various railway branch bureaus, too, are ensuring the promptness of train operation by readjusting and repairing dangerous places and points. -0-
