TGA Participates in International Union of Railways Assembly

   Beijing, July 09, 2025, SPA -- The Transport General Authority (TGA) participated in the 106th general assembly of the International Union of Railways (UIC), held in Beijing, ahead of the 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail.
   The Saudi participation is part of the TGA's efforts to enhance the Kingdom's presence in international forums, support regional integration, and exchange expertise on the future of sustainable rail transport. It also aims to adopt best global practices in digital transformation, innovation, and improving technical and operational efficiency, all in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for the transport and logistics sector.
   The assembly discussed several key themes, including emphasizing the importance of cooperation between countries and institutions involved in rail transport, the necessity of digital transformation, and the integration of various transport modes to achieve a fundamental shift towards railways globally.
   The assembly also highlighted the importance of regional initiatives and the expansion of regional centers, as well as bilateral cooperation to enhance project effectiveness and align them with local needs. It showcased numerous modern initiatives and technologies used in the rail sector, including the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS), European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), digital connectivity, and cybersecurity.
