Medvedev congratulates Russian team on best results at Universiade

MOSCOW, July 13 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
congratulated the Russian student team on the perfect performance at the
25th World Summer Universiade-2009 in Belgrade.
"Your skills, persistence and willpower helped the Russian team to win
the first place in the number of medals. Tennis women players and the
volleyball men team achieved remarkable results; the performance of women
gymnasts was a real triumph. Your great victories at so large-scale
student competitions in the Year of Youth is a perfect gift for millions
of Russian fans," the Russian president said in a telegram of
congratulation.
"I believe that you will represent our country worthily at the most
prestigious international competitions in the future," the telegram runs.
The Russian team has won 76 medals (27 gold, 22 silver, and 27 bronze
medals).
