Riyadh, July 15, 2025, SPA -- The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) has received the 2025 Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) President’s Award, an annual honor that recognizes leading agencies and organizations for their adoption of geospatial technologies and smart solutions, as well as for advancing the use of geospatial information in various development applications.
The award was announced during the opening ceremony of the Esri User Conference, held from July 14 to 18 in San Diego, USA.
GEOSA earned the award for its development of the Saudi Geo-Hub, a central platform for geospatial data and tools that support smart decision-making in comprehensive development. The Geo-Hub integrates, analyzes, and visualizes geospatial information through dashboards, interactive charts, graphs, and infographics, providing accurate and reliable data for decision-makers in key development sectors.
GEOSA is the first organization outside the United States to win this award. The 2024 Award was given to the US Agency for International Development, with several US agencies recognized in the last 10 years.
The award announcement was made during the annual Esri User Conference, which attracts thought leaders, decision-makers, experts, and professionals in the field of geospatial information from around the world. The conference also includes participation from various international organizations, as well as relevant government, private sector, academic, and non-profit entities.
The award aligns with the Kingdom's pioneering efforts in building and developing national geospatial infrastructure, and it highlights the unwavering support of the Saudi leadership for the surveying, geospatial information, and imaging sector. This commitment has enabled the Kingdom to achieve a prominent position among its peers in the geospatial field at both regional and global levels, playing a leading role in relevant international committees and organizations.
