Qatar, Egypt Reaffirm Unwavering Mediation Efforts on Gaza

Cairo, July 25 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt reaffirm their unwavering and ongoing mediation efforts in the Gaza Strip, aimed at reaching an agreement that ends the war, ends the humanitarian suffering in the Strip, ensures the protection of civilians, and facilitates the exchange of detainees and prisoners.
The two countries note that tangible progress has been made during the latest round of intensive negotiations, which spanned three weeks. They underscore that the temporary suspension of negotiations for the purpose of consultations before resuming dialogue is a normal practice in the context of such complex talks.
The two countries urge refraining from being influenced by unsubstantiated leaks circulated in certain media outlets, which seek to undermine these mediation efforts and distort the negotiation process. They emphasize that such leaks are inaccurate and originate from sources not privy to the progress of negotiations.
Furthermore, the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt call on international media outlets to uphold journalistic integrity and responsibility by focusing on the dire and unprecedented humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip, rather than contributing to efforts that undermine attempts to end the war on the Strip.
In partnership with the United States, both countries reiterate their steadfast commitment to continuing efforts to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. (QNA)
