Thai PM Faces Constitutional Court Ruling Over Leaked Audio Clip

BANGKOK, Aug 14 (TNA) - Thailand's Constitutional Court will deliver a verdict on the fate of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on August 29.

The case stems from a complaint filed by 36 senators concerning a leaked audio clip of a conversation she allegedly had with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen.

The senators argue that the prime minister's actions, which they say favored Cambodia's interests, constitute a serious ethical violation.

Paetongtarn has stated the conversation was private and intended to maintain peace, but the court has set a hearing for August 21 for her and the Secretary-General of the National Security Council to testify. Failure to appear will be considered a waiver of their right to provide testimony.

The court's final ruling, which could lead to her removal from office, is set to be announced on August 29. -819 (TNA)
