Taif to Host Final Rounds of Crown Prince Camel Festival with Record Prizes

     Taif, September 11, 2025, SPA -- The “Al-Haail and Al-Zamoul” (types of camels) category competitions are set to conclude the 2025 Crown Prince Camel Festival, organized by the Saudi Camel Federation at the historic Taif racecourse. The final rounds will be held on Friday with prizes totaling SAR12.616 million.
   The seventh edition of the festival, which began on September 2, features total prizes exceeding SAR50 million. Over the past nine days, 225 rounds were held, including 92 in the “Haqqa” category, 64 in the “Laqaya” category, 40 in the “Jatha’a” category, 24 in the “Thanaya” category, and five camel races, three for men and two for women.
   On Thursday, 20 rounds will be contested in the “Al-Haail and Al-Zamoul” categories, with participating camels covering a combined distance of 120 kilometers (6 kilometers per round) and prize money amounting to SAR1.716 million. The festival will conclude on Friday with four final rounds for the festival cups, covering a distance of 24 kilometers, with total prizes reaching SAR10.9 million.
   The camel sector receives substantial support from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who seeks to develop it in line with an ambitious vision that serves camel owners and enthusiasts across the Kingdom and the Arab world. The festival has become a major cultural destination, celebrating authentic heritage while generating positive economic and tourism impacts.
