Saudi Arabia Serves as a Safe Corridor for Migratory Birds in Autumn

      Turaif, September 11, 2025, SPA --  Bird migration across Saudi Arabia recurs each September and October, as birds move from the Northern Hemisphere to the south in search of food and to breed.
   Saudi Arabia’s strategic location and vast area make it both a corridor and a safe habitat for several species.  The migration follows two main routes -- the Red Sea route and a northern route used by species such as falcons, peregrine falcons, and houbara bustards.
   Northern Borders Region is an important passage thanks to its diverse habitats, vegetation cover, and position linking continents.
   Migratory birds help disperse seeds, curb insect populations, and enhance biodiversity, while adding aesthetic and cultural value for nature enthusiasts and environmental observers.
