Saudi Arabia Marks World Patient Safety Day

Riyadh, September 17, 2025, SPA -- Saudi Arabia joins the global celebration of World Patient Safety Day, observed annually on September 17, under the theme “Patient safety from the start!” This year’s focus highlights the critical importance of safeguarding the health and well-being of children and newborns from the very first moments of life.
This participation aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to build a vibrant society characterized by a healthy population and a high quality of life.
On this occasion, the Saudi Patient Safety Center has launched a series of initiatives to raise awareness about child and newborn safety in healthcare and empower both families and healthcare professionals to adopt best practices that ensure safe and effective care.
They include illuminating prominent landmarks and towers across the Kingdom in orange—the symbolic color for patient safety—hosting scientific lectures for healthcare providers, and running extensive awareness campaigns on street screens and social media platforms to promote child safety messages.
The initiatives also feature collaborative efforts with several partners, including the Ministry of Sport and the Sports for All Federation, to organize sports and community activities and develop educational materials tailored specifically for children and their families, ensuring that patient safety awareness reaches all segments of society.
