Ukraine confirms death of its citizens in Afghanistan copter crash.
KIEV, July 15 (Itar-Tass) - Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has confirmed
that six citizens of Ukraine, crewmembers of a Mi-26 helicopter owned by
Moldova's air company, were killed in the crash in Afghanistan.
The ministry's press service said all crewmembers were civilians.
"The military command of the International Security Assistance Force
in Afghanistan officially confirmed that Mi-26 was owned by Pecotox Air,
Moldova's air company, that was used on the contract basis within the
framework of the humanitarian mission," the press service said.
Earlier, Pecotox Air director Leonid Tokorenko said the helicopter was
shot down by the Taliban from a grenade launcher.
