Medvedev to greet Russia`s winners of Universiade 2009
MOSCOW, July 17 (Itar-Tass) -- President Dmitry Medvedev will greet in
the Kremlin on Friday Russian University athletes who won the first place
at the Universiade 2009 in Belgrade by the total number of medals.
The president has already congratulated the athletes in a message.
"Your skills, resoluteness and willpower helped the Russian national win
the first place among the teams. Your exciting victories at such major
University competitions are an excellent present to millions of Russian
fans," he said.
The Russian national team won a total of 76 medals, including 27 gold.
Russia's Kazan will hold Universiade in 2013.
