Al-Sudani Urges European Companies to Join Iraq’s Development Road Project

Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has called on European companies to actively participate in the Development Road Project, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening economic partnership with the European Union.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office said that Al-Sudani received today the EU Ambassador to Iraq, Clemens Semtner, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and activate the provisions of partnership agreements and memoranda of cooperation, particularly in the fields of investment, trade, energy, and the environment.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to the European Union for its support and assistance in monitoring Iraq’s recent elections, which he described as successful in terms of organization and voter turnout, which is a reflection of the growing public confidence in the political process.
Al-Sudani highlighted that the government is pursuing a comprehensive reform program aimed at advancing reconstruction, development, and service improvement to meet the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
He also emphasized the importance of lifting the flight ban between Iraq and EU countries, noting that the continued ban hinders the growth of tourism, trade, and investment between the two sides.
For his part, Ambassador Semtner congratulated the Prime Minister on the successful parliamentary elections, praising Iraq’s balanced foreign policy in avoiding regional conflicts and its efforts to achieve economic and security reforms, as well as its focus on water management./End
