Al-Sudani Calls for Convening Iraqi-Hungarian Joint Committee to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed the importance of expediting the convening of the Iraqi-Hungarian Joint Committee, considering it an effective platform for activating joint projects and implementing agreements between the two countries.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office said that Al-Sudani received, on Thursday, the Hungarian Ambassador to Iraq, Osama Ibrahim Naffa, who conveyed the Hungarian Prime Minister’s greetings and his congratulations on the successful parliamentary elections, the high voter turnout, and the significant victory achieved by Al-Sudani.

The meeting discussed the course of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Budapest and ways to enhance cooperation across various fields. Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s keenness to expand its regional and international partnerships, noting that cooperation with Hungary represents an important step in this direction. He stressed the need to hold the joint committee’s meeting to activate projects and agreements on the ground.

For his part, the Hungarian ambassador expressed his country’s aspiration for broader cooperation with Iraq, which is witnessing security stability and growing development across several sectors. He explained that Hungarian companies have shown clear interest in entering the Iraqi market and participating in diverse development projects.

Al-Sudani welcomed this interest, calling on Hungarian companies to seize the available investment opportunities and contribute to the comprehensive development process underway in Iraq across all sectors./ End
