NCW Develops Destinations for Discovering Kingdom's Wildlife, Biodiversity

Riyadh, June 10, 2026, SPA -- Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Wildlife (NCW) Dr. Mohammad Qurban said that tourism destinations and experiences linked to wildlife and biodiversity represent a natural extension of achievements made over the past five years in species and habitat conservation, ecosystem rehabilitation, and the reintroduction of wildlife into their historical habitats.
He noted that these efforts have helped prepare numerous natural sites to become sustainable destinations where visitors can discover wildlife and explore the richness of the Kingdom's biodiversity.
His remarks came during a media conference held by NCW at the Saudi Press Agency headquarters to highlight tourism opportunities and destinations associated with wildlife and biodiversity.
Qurban said the Kingdom possesses exceptional natural diversity ranging from marine environments and islands to mountains, valleys, and deserts. He added that the center's efforts in recent years have focused on protecting and developing this natural heritage in a way that balances conservation with the sustainable use of natural resources while enhancing their contribution to economic development and quality of life, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
The CEO added that these projects open new avenues for participation by the public, private, and non-profit sectors in developing products and services related to wildlife and biodiversity. Such efforts contribute to creating new investment and development opportunities, supporting local communities, and increasing the contribution of natural resources to the national economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
He stressed that the center will continue developing national models that balance nature conservation with sustainable use, reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a leading destination for wildlife and biodiversity experiences and showcasing the richness and uniqueness of its natural environments at the regional and international levels.
