Arab Countries Showcase Anti-Desertification Experiences at Al-Jouf Knowledge Forum

   Sakaka, June 17, 2026, SPA -- Several countries participating in the Al-Jouf Knowledge Forum, held in conjunction with World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought and organized by the National Center for Vegetation Cover (NCVC) Development and Combating Desertification under the patronage of Governor of Al-Jouf Region Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz showcased their national efforts to combat desertification and reduce land degradation.
   The forum, held in Sakaka, brought together a number of government entities, international organizations, and leading experts and specialists in the field.
   Ahead of the scientific sessions, representatives from Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Oman, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates presented visual and detailed briefings on their successful experiences in land rehabilitation, addressing climate challenges, and utilizing modern technologies to preserve vegetation cover and develop natural resources.
   The participation of these countries comes within the framework of exchanging regional expertise and experiences to strengthen international cooperation in addressing desertification and drought, while highlighting sustainable best practices that contribute to achieving food and water security and protecting the environment for future generations, in line with global objectives in this field.
