NCVC Concludes Desertification and Drought Forum Sessions in Al-Jouf

   Sakaka, June 17, 2026, SPA -- The scientific sessions of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought Forum concluded today in Al-Jouf Region. The forum was organized by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC).
   Discussions centered on strategies to combat desertification, including a scientific presentation on the role of rangelands in maintaining ecological balance.
   The forum also highlighted international experiences in monitoring and assessment through a scientific paper that reviewed modern techniques for tracking land degradation in Australian rangelands.
   Recommendations issued at the close of the forum called for enhancing vegetation cover and strengthening efforts to combat drought and desertification in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and national environmental goals.
