Scientific Crop Cultivation at Farms in DPRK

 Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- Rural areas across the DPRK are directing efforts to the cultivation of crops for increased grain production.
Farms in South Hwanghae Province have ensured the safe growth of paddy rice while giving precedence to clearing out ditches and digging drainage canals to cope with heavy rain and by applying leaf fertilizing with various kinds of plant nutrients and growth regulators in a scientific and technological way according to the conditions of every field.
Agricultural workers in South Phyongan Province have improved the root activity of paddy rice by realigning waterways and ridges between rice fields in a qualitative way and applying various methods of paddy field water management to minimize damage by rainy season.
Farms in South Hamgyong Province and Nampho Municipality are raising the photosynthetic capacity of crops by spraying growth promoters. And they are securing fungicides and insecticides and intensifying the forecasting to prevent damage by harmful insects.
Agricultural workers in Pyongyang Municipality, North Hwanghae Province and other parts of the country are improving the growth of crops by introducing advanced manuring and cultivation experience and applying various fertilizing methods according to types of cultivation. -0-
