Malaysia Open Badminton Asia Junior Championships Campaign With Win Over Macau
KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia opened their Group D campaign in the 2026 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (BAJC) mixed team event on a positive note after defeating Macau 2-0 at the Yatsushiro City General Gymnasium in Japan Friday.
The national junior squad dominated the tie with a 110-47 aggregate score after sweeping all 10 matches.
The 10 matches comprised two men’s singles, two women’s singles, two men’s doubles, two women’s doubles and two mixed doubles.
Malaysia will next face South Korea tomorrow before locking horns with Indonesia in their final Group D match on Sunday in their bid to secure a quarter-final berth.
At last year’s edition in Solo, Indonesia, Malaysia’s campaign ended in the quarter-finals after all national representatives fell to their Indonesian opponents.
