Notebook Telling about World of "The People Are God" of Popular Leader

 Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- It has been 32 years since President Kim Il Sung passed away on July 8, 1994. Our people's hearts are still overflowing with ardent yearning and boundless reverence for him.
Among many stories telling about the noble life of the President who regarded it as his motto to believe in the people as in Heaven all his life and translated it into reality, is a story about his pocketbook.
One day when he was inspecting North Hamgyong Province, the President went to bed on a train running late at night.
Each time the train passed through the tunnels, the smell of smoke permeated the train.
He got up from his bed and looked out the dark window, thinking of the people who should always travel like this.
Then he wrote down the number of the tunnels that the train had passed through on his pocketbook.
Until dawn he wrote down the figure of 20-odd tunnels on his pocketbook and made up his mind to electrify the railway no matter how tense the situation of the country may be. So, the electric locomotive "Pulgungi" which was recorded in the history of our country as one of the miracles of the 1960s came into being.
The pocketbook of the President also contained the production of an iron production base, the arrangement of machines of a small regional-industry factory, an ordinary peasant's experience of cultivating soybeans and the wish of a rural woman.
One day in autumn 1973, when he visited a workteam of a farm in Taedong County, he talked with the peasants and told them to say what more goods they needed and to say anything they wanted.
He wrote down on his pocketbook the cloth for making working uniform, wrinkled skirt, watch, shoes, cooker and even the trivial items they proposed. And next day he put the supply of those goods for discussion at a meeting of the Political Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and took a benevolent measure to send them to the peasants across the country.
Everyone recalls with deep emotion that there is no such popular leader as the President who had made a long journey for the people all his life. -0-
