Imam Turki Royal Reserve Offers Prime Stargazing as July Skies Light Up with Celestial Events

Rafha, July 12, 2026, SPA -- The skies above the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve are hosting a series of celestial events throughout July, drawing stargazers, astrophotographers, and space enthusiasts.
The reserve’s vast desert landscape and clear night skies provide ideal conditions for observing astronomical phenomena, particularly at AlNufud Dark Sky Park located in AlNufud AlKabir Desert, one of the Kingdom’s leading locations for astronomical observation.
The month’s celestial calendar began with the conjunction of Mars and Uranus on July 4, followed by the Moon’s last quarter on July 7. Venus then appeared in conjunction with the star Aldebaran on July 9, while the Moon aligned with the Pleiades star cluster on July 11.
The new moon will occur on July 14.
The celestial displays will continue with the Moon’s conjunction with Venus on July 17, followed by the Moon’s first quarter on July 21. On July 25, the Moon will appear alongside Antares before reaching its full moon phase on July 29.
The month will conclude on July 30 with the peak of the Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower, one of the year’s most prominent annual meteor showers.
