International Dates Council Convenes to Review Revisions to Global Dates Standard

Riyadh, July 20, 2026, SPA -- The International Dates Council will hold a virtual meeting for member states tomorrow, chaired by Executive Director Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, with the participation of national coordinators from 17 member states and heads of the council's specialized committees.
The meeting will discuss proposed revisions to the international dates standard DDP-08 and feedback from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on agricultural quality standards.
The discussions aim to reflect the views of date-producing countries on product definition, moisture limits, presentation, labeling, and product designation, in preparation for submitting final views to the UNECE following the UN session held in Geneva from May 13 to 15, 2026.
