Indonesia wins two gold medals in SEATRC 2026 7km vertical race

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia won two gold medals in the men's and women's 7-kilometer vertical races at the 2026 Southeast Asian Trail Running Confederation (SEATRC) Championships. 

“As head of the Indonesian contingent, I am proud of our athletes for winning both gold medals. We extend our highest appreciation to Putra Aldio and Fitri,” Donny Gahral Adian said Friday. 

Putra Aldio won the men's race in 1 hour, 3 minutes, 54 seconds, ahead of the Philippines' Christone Dinawanao and Thailand's Surachat Thaesi. 

Fitri won the women's race in 1 hour, 20 minutes, 59 seconds, ahead of Cambodia's Laurie Phai and Thailand's Pitchanan Mahachot. 

“We hope to win more gold medals in other events and become the overall champion,” said Adian, secretary-general of the Indonesian Trail Running Association. 

National Sports Committee of Indonesia Chairman Marciano Norman also praised the achievement, saying it would motivate other Indonesian athletes to perform better. 

The International Trail Running Association website said the 2026 Southeast Asian Trail Running Cup was held July 24-26 at Cibodas Botanical Garden in Cianjur, West Java.
