Nile Valley Sunbird Highlights Jazan’s Rich Biodiversity

Jizan, August 17, 2026, SPA -- The Nile Valley sunbird has been observed across several agricultural environments in Jazan Region, benefiting from the area’s diverse vegetation, including abundant trees, shrubs, and flowering plants that provide food sources and suitable habitats.
During the breeding season, the Nile Valley sunbird builds an elongated, dome-shaped nest from plant fibers, roots, leaves, and stems, which it secures with spider webs. The nest is suspended from a branch or twig, with both parents participating in its construction and caring for their young.
The bird highlights the rich biodiversity of Jazan, reflecting the ecological value of the region’s habitats, which provide favorable conditions for the survival and stability of numerous bird species and other wildlife.
