Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Records Hatching of Seven Red-Necked Ostrich Chicks in Q2 2026

Rafha, August 16, 2026, SPA -- The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority recorded the hatching of seven red-necked ostrich chicks during the second quarter of 2026, reflecting the authority’s ongoing efforts to increase the population of a species that historically inhabited the reserve.
The authority adopts an integrated approach to wildlife reintroduction, focusing on studying, preparing, and protecting habitats, selecting suitable release sites, and monitoring species’ movement, adaptation, reproduction, and distribution in the wild.
This approach provides scientific and field-based indicators to assess the success of reintroduction programs and to guide their continued development.
The authority continues to implement programs focused on wildlife protection, species reintroduction, and habitat conservation, contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to restore ecosystems and promote the sustainable management of the Kingdom’s natural resources.
