Najran University Tops Honors at 12th International Exhibition of Inventions

Najran, August 23, 2026, SPA -- Najran University made a strong showing at the 12th International Exhibition of Inventions (IEI 2026), which concluded today in Guangzhou, China, winning the Grand Prize, the Judges' Award, and the Best International Pavilion Award, along with seven gold and four silver medals.
The exhibition featured around 3,700 inventions from 29 countries.
The Grand Prize went to an invention by Associate Professor of Radiology and Consultant Radiologist at Najran University Dr. Yasser Idris Al-Malki, who developed an innovative technology to enhance mammogram images and support the early detection of breast cancer by improving the clarity of details and fine tissue structures in medical images.
The technology could help radiologists identify early signs of the disease and can be integrated with artificial intelligence and computer-aided diagnosis applications.
On the institutional front, Najran University won the Best International Pavilion Award at the exhibition in recognition of its comprehensive showcase of innovations and research projects, which provided an opportunity to highlight the university's scientific achievements and engage with visitors, inventors, researchers, and participating institutions.
The IEI 2026 is a major international platform dedicated to innovation, bringing together universities, research institutions, inventors, and industrial organizations from multiple countries. It provides a platform to showcase technologies, exchange expertise, and explore opportunities for collaboration and technological development.
