Anwar Reaffirms Malaysia’s Commitment To Southern Thailand Peace Efforts

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is committed to playing a constructive role in supporting efforts to achieve regional peace and stability, including in southern Thailand, says Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

He said dialogue based on trust, mutual understanding and openness was crucial to paving the way for a comprehensive and lasting peaceful solution for the well-being of the people in southern Thailand.

Anwar said this in a Facebook post tonight after receiving a courtesy call from Malaysia’s Facilitator for the Southern Thailand Peace Dialogue Process, Lt Gen (Rtd) Ahmad Norihan Jalal, who was recently appointed to the post.
