SOFAZ POSTS REVENUE OF OVER 3 BLN MANATS IN FIRST HALF OF 2009
Baku, July 24 (AzerTAc). Budget revenues of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) in January-June, 2009 reached 3,156,300,000 manats, Shahmar Movsumov, the Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan told a news conference today, briefing media on SOFAZ activities in the first half of 2009.
According to him, budget expenditures constituted 2,685,700,000 manats.
Revenue of 2,989,300,000 manats was received from implementation of oil and gas agreements, including 2,907,6000 manats from the sale of profit oil and gas, 5 mln. manats as transit payments, 75.5 mln. manats from State share in the Heydar Aliyev Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Main Export Pipeline, 1.1 mln. manats as acreage payments and 0.1 mln. manats from sale of assets received from foreign companies.
The revenues from managing assets of the Fund for the reporting period amounted to 167.0 mln. manats.
The Fund`s extra-budgetary revenues related to the revaluation of foreign exchange totaled 100,500,000 manats.
As per 2009 budget of the Fund, transfer to the state budget constituted 2,530.0 mln. manats. The expenditures in the amount of 20,200,000 manats were directed to financing of improvement of social condition of refugees and İDPs, 61,900,000 manats and 68,500,000 manats were accordingly used for financing the reconstruction of the Samur-Absheron irrigation system and funding construction of the Oguz-Gabala-Baku water supply system. 1,100,000 manats were injected into financing Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and 1.3 mln. manats to financing "The state program on the education of Azerbaijan youth abroad in 2007-2015". The Fund`s administrative and operational expenses in this period came to 2.7 mln. manats.
The assets of SOFAZ as of July 1, 2009 have shot up by 6.35 % compared to that in the beginning of the year to stand at 9 557,700,000 manats (USD 11 886,400,000).
