Ukraine to raise natural gas prices in Sept.




KIEV, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - The Ukrainian National Electricity
Regulatory Commission (NERC) intends to increase natural gas tariffs by 20
percent for the population starting from September 1, the commission's
press service reported.

Gas price for enterprises providing heating and hot water supply
services to the population will also be raised by 20 percent starting from
October 1.
Ukraine assumed the obligation before the International Monetary Fund
(IMF) to raise by 20 percent gas prices for the population in 2009 and
adjust them on a quarterly basis in 2010. The gas price for the population
is now some 78 US dollars for 1,000 cubic metres.

.Pacific Econ Congress gathers 600 participants of RF, China, Japan.


VLADIVOSTOK, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - The 3rd Pacific Economic Congress
is opening in Vladivostok on Saturday. This year is has gathered about 600
representatives of the power bodies, major companies, scientists from
Russia, China and Japan.
The forum's two-day programme includes a plenary session, discussions
on the most important aspects of the development of cooperation in the
region and a presentation named "Regional architectural exhibition
Vladivostok-2012."
Governor of the Primorsky Territory Sergei Darkin will deliver a
report at the plenary session on the issue "strategy of socio-economic
development of the Primorsky Territory up to 2025 in the conditions of the
transformation of Asian markets." Executive Director of the Secretariat of
the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum Michael Tay is invited
to the forum. His speech is devoted to peculiarities of the region's
economic processes - "Asian markets' change: change in the development
model of Asian countries."
Khabarovsk Territory governor Vyacheslav Shport is also planned to
deliver a report on the "development of the fuel and energy complex of the
Russian Far East - the foundation for intensification of Russia's
integration cooperation with Asia-Pacific Region's countries" at the
plenary session of the congress.
The forum's programme includes discussions reflecting aspects of the
development of cooperation in the region: "The fuel-energy complex, and
oil and gas processing: market development projections and key projects,"
"Transport and logistic system and transit traffic of the Far East: growth
and development prospects."

.Moldova parliamentary elections to be monitored by PACE.


PARIS, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - Moldova's snap parliamentary elections
will be held under observation of a delegation of the Parliamentary
Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The PACE press service said in Strasbourg that the Assembly delegation
led by Mevlut Cavusoglu (Turkey) will visit Moldova in the period from
July 27 to 30 for monitoring the elections scheduled for July 29.
The monitoring will be conducted jointly with the OSCE Office for
Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
During its stay in Moldova the PACE delegation will hold meetings with
the chairman of the Central Election Commission, leadership of the parties
taking part in the elections, representatives of the civil society and
mass media.
The commission will announce its preliminary conclusions on July 30.

.Darfur, S Sudan confer to be held in Moscow early Oct-Margelov.


UNITED NATIONS, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - The scientific-practical
conference on Darfur and Southern Sudan will be held in Moscow in early
October, Russian president's special representative for Sudan Mikhail
Margelov told Itar-Tass on Friday. He took part in an open meeting of the
UN Security Council on the situation in Sudan.
According to him, "Former South African President Thabo Mbeki, special
representatives of practically all countries members of the UN Security
Council have confirmed their participation in the forum, and a major
Sudanese delegation from the North and South is expected to arrive."

.Passengers of Hanoi-Moscow emergency plane feel well.


MOSCOW, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - All passengers of the flight
Hanoi-Moscow of the Aeroflot company's plane that made an emergency
landing at Moscow's Sheremetyevo-2 airport feel well. The plane had on
board 166 passengers and 13 crewmembers.
The airport sources told Itar-Tass that the "Boeing 767 plane on
Friday at 18:18, Moscow time, made a planned landing at Sheremetyevo."
"After the plane completed the run on the air strip and was transferring
to the taxiway, the commander of the aircraft reported to the airport's
chief of flights about an emergency situation on board and decided to make
an emergency disembarkation of passengers on the taxiway using inflatable
slides," the source said. The plane the left landing gear unit of which
was damaged was evacuated to an emergency ramp.
