Gazprom outlines eastern field development plans.
GEORGIYEVKA (Khabarovsk region), July 31 (Itar-Tass) -- Gazprom
outlined its plans to develop new fields in the eastern part of the
country that would supply natural and liquefied gas to Asian markets.
Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Ananenkov told reporters late on Thursday
the company had already paid for and obtained the license for the
development of the Sakhalin-3 project and west Kamchatka fields.
The company remitted 577.558 million rubles for three Sakhalin blocs -
Kirinsky, Ayashsky, and East Optinsky, and 353.4 million rubles for west
Kamchatka shelf license.
He said Gazprom plans to engage Rosneft state-run company in
geological prospecting of Koryakia-1 and Koryakia-2 fields on Kamchatka.
"We shall offer Rosneft to use our joint venture Rosshelf for
geological prospecting of the fields," he said.
Ananenkov did not rule out a possible participation of Korean, Chinese
or Japanese companies in the projects.
He said Gazprom also eyes Magadan fields with estimated reserves of
5.5 millionm tons of conditional fuel.
Ananenkov said Gazprom plans to begin constructing a gas pipeline from
Yakutia to Khabarovsk in 2012 and Yakutian fields can provide up to 35
billion cubic meters of natural gas for export to Asia and the Pacific Rim.
Gazprom will also build natural gas liquefaction and compression
facilities in the east of the country.
"We are considering the possibility of constructing an LNG facility
and a gas compression plant in Primorye region" for deliveries to Asia,
Ananenkov said.
The gas in the amount of 18.7 billion cubic meters will arrive from
Chayandinskoe field in Yakutia and it is necessary to construct additional
compressor stations at the Khabarovsk-Vladivostok pipeline that will up
its capacity to 47.2 billion cubic meters, according to him.
Yakutian reserves are estimated at two trillion cubic meters, of which
Chayadinskoe field accounts for 1.3 trillion. The field is 2700 kilometers
away from KIhabarovsk.
Ananenkov was speaking on the eve of the Friday commencement ceremony
to construct the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline, which Prime
Minister Vladimir Putin is to attend.
The construction of the first 1350-kilometer section is to be
completed in the third quarter of 2011 and will cost 210 million rubles.
Gazprom allocates 50 billion rubles for the construction this year and
the pipeline will have an annual capacity of 28.5 billion cubic meters.
The project will have a totqal length of 1836 kilometers.
