Criminal case over Ingush emergencies officers murder opened

NAZRAN, August 2 (Itar-Tass) - Criminal proceedings have been
instituted over the fact of murder of three officers of the Ingush
Emergencies Ministry that was committed in the republic on Sunday, under
the Criminal Code articles "murder," "illegal keeping and carrying of arms
and ammunition," the republic's Prosecutor Yuri Turygin told Itar-Tass.

According to him, "Various versions of the crime are considered,
including an attack by members of illegal armed groups that are trying to
destabilise the situation in the republic."
A car in which rescuers of the republic's Emergencies Ministry were
riding was fired at from automatic weapons at 09:16, Moscow time, Sunday
on the Karabulak-Aselki highway. Two rescuers died on the spot and the
third died on the way to hospital. All of the killed are residents of
Ingushetia.
The republic's police told Itar-Tass that the gunmen were riding in a
black VAZ-21114 car. The measures to track down the criminals are being
taken.
