PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV TELEPHONES COACH OF FC KARABAKH

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today made a telephone call to coach of FC Karabakh Gurban Gurbanov to congratulate him on Karabakh`s progressing to the Europa League fourth qualifying round by beating Finland`s Honka
The Head of State stressed the importance of the club`s being founded in Agdam and bearing the name of Karabakh. Azerbaijani leader hailed the fact that the majority of players and the coach are Azerbaijan nationals.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized Karabakh also beat a strong rival in the previous round, adding these facts show how much potential Azerbaijani football has. The Head of State congratulated all the footballers and wished them further successes.
Coach Gurbanov thanked the Head of State for congratulation. On behalf of the team, Gurbanov expressed gratitude to the President for attention and care to Azerbaijani sports, in particular, Karabakh football club. Gurbanov assured the President that FC Karabakh would live up to expectations with good performance.
