Moscow horse show to feature best race horses Wed.
MOSCOW, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - The 11th all-Russia horse show
EquiRos-2009 opens here on Wednesday and will run till August 23. Visitors will be able to appreciate the beauty and build of the best race horses of Russia and foreign countries.
An official at the organising commitee of the show has told Itar-Tass,
"The show will feature 300 horses, among them such famous breeds as
Akhal-Tekke, Andalusia and Don horses, trotters, Arabian stallions,
Vladimir and Russian draught-horses, and many other saddle horses".
An EquiRos Cup on sports western, including the breaking-in of horses
and lasso exercises, will be held in Russia for the first time within the
scope of the show. Those will be the first official competitions with
international refereeing, the organising committee official pointed out.
.Int'l forum of social workers to open in Altai Rep Wed.
GORNO-ALTAISK, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - The 3rd international forum of
social workers and social pedagogues of Siberia and the Far East opens
here on Wednesday.
About 400 people from 16 constituent entities of Russia, as well as
specialists from Britain, France, Spain, Denmark, Australia, Kenya,
Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and other countries will take part in the forum on
the theme of "Social Work in the 21st Century: Infrastructure,
Innovations, Investments", an official in the press service of the Altai
Republic government has told Itar-Tass.
A plenary session on Wednesday will be declared open by Head of the
Republic Alexander Berdnikov. Gennady Sumin, republican Minister of Labour
and Social Development, will deliver the main report on the state of
affairs in social work in the Altai Republic.
On August 18, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sent a message of
greetings to participants in the forum.
.Angara rckt engine production to be set up in Perm Terr.
PERM, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - The Federal Space Agency (FSA) of
Russia, the Khrunichev state-run space research and production center, and
the Perm Territory administration will cooperate in setting up an enlarged
production of RD191 engines for new-generation carrier rockets Angara.
The sides are planning to sign a respective agreement on Wednesday
within the scope of the international air show MAKS-2009 that opened in
the city of Zhukovsky outside Moscow on Tuesday.
A Territorial administration official has told Itar-Tass, "Production
in question will develop on the basis of the Proton-PM enterprise, which
is part of the FSA".
The official pointed out that the Proton-PM has been participating in
the manufacture of engines for carrier rockets since March 1958. The
enterprise has effected over 340 launchings of Proton rockets that
deployed Cosmos, Raduga (rainbow), and Ekran (screen) satellites into
near-Earth orbits, satellites of the GLONASS system, space stations of
the Luna (moon), Venus, Vega, and Phobos series into interplanetary flight
paths, the orbital stations Salyut and Mir, and modules of the
International Space Station.
The Proton-PM takes part in the air show within the framework of the
exhibition stand of the Khrunichev Center, which is the owner and main
partner of the enterprise. The Proton-PM will display a mock-up of the
14D14 rocket motor and hold a multimedia presentation of its activities,
output, and resources.
.Kubinka air garrison to pay last respects to Tkachenko.
MOSCOW, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - The personnel of the Kubinka air
garrison outside Moscow will pay their last respects Wednesday to Colonel
Igor Tkachenko, commander of the Russkiye Vityazi (Russian Knights)
aerobatic group.
Lieutenant-Colonel Vladimir Drik, chief of the information and public
relations service of the Air Force (AF), hss told Itar-Tass, "In
accordance with an instrucyion of Rusdian Minister of Defence Anatoly
Serdyukov, a commisison has been formed to arrange a funeral of Colonel
Igor Tkachenko, chief of the 237th Center for the Display of Air Equipment
(CDAE) of the AF, who died in an air accident on August 16 while on a
training flight".
The commission is headed by Lieutenant-General Igor Sadofyev, Air
Chief and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the AF in charge of aviation.
Drik said, "Anatoly Serdyukov decided to recommend that Colonel Igor
Tkachenko be decorated with a state award (posthumously) for his courage
and heroism shown in the performance of his military duty".
Tkachenko is to be buried in the graveyard of Nikolskoye Village,
where CDAE pilots, who died in air crashes have been interrred over many
years.
Colonel Igor Tkachenko, 45, a Merited Military Pilot, and a sniper
pilot, has been engaging in aerobatics since 1989. He has been the head of
the aerobatic group since 2002. President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime
Minister Vladimir Putin conveyed their condolences to the relatives and
family members of Igor Tkachenko.
