MoU signed between IIT-Kanpur and Malaysian university


Kanpur, Aug 22 (PTI) Adding another feather to its cap,
the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur on
Saturday signed an MoU with the Malaysian government to
provide technical and academic assistance to an electronic hub
in that country.

IIT-Kanpur Director Sanjay Dhande told reporters that
the electronic hub, to be set up in Penang in Malaysia, would
be provided technical know-how in the fields of research,
consultancy and training by the premier institute.

The MoU was signed by Dhande and University Sens
Malaysia Director Tan Siri.

"It is matter of pride that the such understanding has
been reached in the golden jubilee year of the institute,"
Dhande said.

"Penang has a presence of around 200 multi national
companies and the Malyasian government wanted IIT-Kanpur help
in consolidating the region's stamp over production of modern
gadgets," IIT-Kanpur Registrar Sanjiv Kashalkar said. PTI ZIR
