Suspected terrorist sent to 14 days police custody
New Delhi, Aug 26 (PTI) A suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba
terrorist arrested in the capital was remanded in police
custody for 14 days by a Delhi Court Wednesday.
Mohd Aslam alias Saleem was produced before
Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi who sent him for
custodial interrogation till September 9.
Seeking his police remand, the prosecution submitted
that Aslam was allegedly carrying explosives in sweet boxes to
be delivered to his accomplices in Aurangabad district of
India's western state of Maharashtra.
"He has disclosed names of his two associates who are
still to be identified and located. He has links in Gujarat
and Maharashtra," public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan said.
Aslam was also alleged to have been involved in cases
in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
"Accused is prayed for custodial interrogation for the
purpose of obtaining further inputs. He is to be taken to
Aurangabad. His previous involvement in the cases in
Maharashtra and Gujarat are to be ascertained so he is sent to
police custody till September 9," the court said.
The 27-year-old suspected terrorist, a resident of
Jammu and Kashmir, was apprehended Tuesday by sleuths of
Delhi Police's Special Cell. He was found carrying detonators
and chemicals.
A Pakistani passport bearing the name Yusuf was also
recovered from him. PTI
