ELCHIN`S NOVEL TO BE SCREENED

Baku, 27 August (AzerTAc). Screen version of Azerbaijani writer Elchin`s “Makhmud and Maryam” novel will be made by Turkish cinematographers. The film starring both Turkish and Azerbaijani singers will be a joint project of Turkish and Azerbaijani filmmakers. The book is written on the basis of “Asli and Karam” epos and deals with the story of love. The writer conventionally outlined the play on the basis of myth-epos. He combined historical excursuses on one point and in fact he said a new word about a great magic nature of the human being. Mahmud, the son of the Ganja Khan falls in love with Maryam, the daughter of the priest. By overcoming all the religious obstacles they live in love. Though the novel deals with the unfortunate love of the two young the author’s main object is the human, his place in the time, his rich and torturing moral world.
The film premiere will take place in December, 2010.
