Talks with Pak meaningless unless Pak acts against terror: India

New Delhi, Aug 31 (PTI) Observing that there has been
no progress in action against anti-India terror by Pakistan,
New Delhi Monday ruled out talks, saying it would be
meaningless until there is proof of Islamabad taking concrete
steps to end the menace.

India made it clear that Pakistan must take
"concerted" action against Lashkar-e Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed
as it has admitted that his outfit was involved in the Mumbai
terror attacks.

There is sufficient evidence against Saeed in
connection with Mumbai attacks and it will be "valid" for any
court of law, sources said here.

They pointed out that Saeed had already been declared
a terrorist group by the UN Security Council which has cited
links of his outfit with the Taliban and Al-Qaida.

"We feel that concerted action should be taken by
Pakistan against Hafiz Saeed," the sources said about the JuD
chief against whose release Pakistan has already filed an
appeal in the Supreme Court.

With regard to the actions taken by Pakistan against
perpetrators of Mumbai attacks and anti-India terror on the
whole, the sources made clear New Delhi's disappointment,
saying there has "not been any progress as far as we are
concerned".

Ruling out dialogue, they said "meaningfulness" of any
talks relating to normalisation would be "questionable" until
"we see meaningful action taken by Pakistan and see proof that
Pakistan is taking steps to end terror". (More) PTI
