AZERBAIJANI ENSEMBLE WINS FIRST PRIZE IN SHARG TARONALARI MUSIC FESTIVAL IN UZBEKISTAN
Samarkand, 1 September (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani ensemble “Sari gelin” has won the first prize in the seventh international music festival Sharq Taronalari (Oriental Melodies) held in the city of Samarkand.
President Islam Karimov greeted the participants and guests of the international festival – artists from 47 countries, which was held on the Registan square of the 2,750-year-old city.
The forum, held on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov since 1997, serves to promotion of the musical heritage of various nations and brings people with different language and culture closer.
During previous festivals, Azerbaijani singer Simare Imanova won the Grand Prix, Alim Gasimov and Aygun Beyler took the first place.
