MOSTI INTRODUCES "K-MOSQUE" TO ATTRACT THE YOUNG

KUCHING (Malaysia), Sept 7 (Bernama) -- The Science, Technology and
Innovation Ministry is planning to introduce a programme known as the "K-Mosque"
to attract the younger generations to take part in activities organised by
mosques and "surau".

Its deputy minister Fadillah Yusof said the use of information technology in
the K-Mosque programme would facilitate implementation of religious and other
related programmes.

"I hope that youths who have the expertise in IT will come forward to help
the implementation of the programme," he said after handing over contributions
to mosques and "surau" in Satok Sunday night.

He said that through the programme, mosques and surau would be connected
online where video streaming of religious programmes could be carried out.

He also urged Muslims to enhance their IT knowledge as it was an important
sector globally.
