(KPL) The Ministry of Information and Culture held in Vientiane on 4 September a review meeting on how it can best serve the 25th SEA Games to be held at the end of the year in Vientiane.
Chaired by the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Mounkeo Oraboun, the meeting was attended by directors general, deputy directors general, representatives of the Mass Media Institute and representatives of the mass media.
The Information and Culture Sub-Committee gave a briefing on the 25th SEA Games, especially on the opening and closing ceremonies. As far as the preparations are concerned, the ministry has completed 70 per cent of its work for this regional sport event.
During this briefing it said that the work on information was focused on media training and preparing air time for the television and radio people to beam the sporting events to their audiences.
Mr Mounkeo Oraboun urged leading officials of the ministry to show unity, to be good hosts, and to work responsibly. With these principles, it is hoped they would make the 25th SEA Games safe and enjoyable for all.
He also said that hosting the 25th SEA Games was an act of honour of the Lao nation and added that it would draw visitors to Laos.
